Starting Out & What You Could Do To Handle Stress
Starting can
be a tough thing to do. If you are just starting out in your career, you must
be nervous. It doesn’t matter whether you want to be a doctor, musician,
sportsperson, or someone else, it takes a huge amount of courage to take the
first step. The fact that you are here and are even thinking of taking the
first step in your career or bringing a major change in your life is massively praiseworthy.
For that, I am proud of you.

Thoughts
like, Am I enough? Or Do I have to what it takes to be successful, is very
common when you are trying to take the next big step or making the next big
jump in your career. Let me tell you, the process might be troublesome, but
sooner or later you will be where you are destined to be. You are you and
that’s your power. Sure, you might not have the latest iPhone or a mansion in Los
Angeles, but the kind of energy you bring to the table is unrivaled. With that being said, we present to you, how
you can handle pressure:
Learn More About Your
Next Move
One of the biggest reasons why we feel scared about the future is because of the
uncertainty that comes with it. So, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that one of
the best ways of dealing with the nervousness of starting out is to find out
more about your next move. For instance, imagine starting your career as a
junior accountant at a car manufacturing plant and being worried about how you
are going to do. You could search online for reviews of people who had served
as accountants there to understand the work culture there and what the company
expects from its employees. Also, if you
do manage to find out details like which software the company uses for its
accounting work, you can practice working on it so that you have an easier time
settling there.
Take A Break
In today’s
world, you often hear people advising people to keep hustling until their
dreams are reality. While they aren’t wrong to say that, the advice doesn’t
apply in every situation. Sometimes, taking a break is just as vital as working
over and above what you are expected to do. Your productivity increases greatly
after taking a long break or a vacation. However, if you can't take a vacation
at the moment make sure you take a break of at least 2 minutes after working
continuously for an hour. For instance, if you are looking to start your
YouTube channel and have been working tirelessly on video scripts for days,
take a day off from your busy life and you will notice that you feel a lot more
motivated the next day.
Work Out And Meditate
When you are
nervous about starting out, you are just scared about whether you will be
successful in your field or not. Therefore, you should divert your attention to
doing something positive such as working out and mediation. Sure, you won’t be
as successful in the gym as Sylvester Stallone, but working out would surely
relieve some of the tension you are currently feeling. Besides, it will give
you the confidence for the upcoming tasks knowing that you used your negative
energy to do something positive. If you
are a religious person and if you have some time on your hands, it’s always a
good idea to visit the place of worship that appeals to you.
Step Out
Of late,
more and more people have become aware of the negative effects of technology on
our life. It has become common knowledge that the blue light emitted from our
mobiles, TV, and PCs is harmful to our health in the long run. Therefore, you
should be trying to reduce the number of hours you sit in front of these
screens, especially if it’s just for entertainment. But if you are especially
nervous about starting out, stepping out of the home and going out for running
or meeting your friends is a great stress buster.

Take A Break From Social Media
One of the
major reasons why many of us have become so sad in our lives is because of
social media. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like all of us were super happy
before and social media just ruined our lives. The power of social media is
undeniable and today we are far more connected with our friends and our
celebrities than we could have ever imagined. However, these social media sites
have also made it incredibly easier for us to see the lives of people we
follow, including our more fortunate friends and our favorite celebrities.
Think about it, you could be studying one
second and viewing the life of the footballer you idolize, on Instagram. Sure, Lionel
Messi’s life is immensely better than ours but, we also shouldn't forget that
he has worked tirelessly for years to reach the position he is in today. Always
remember people only post the best moments of their life on these sites and
therefore, what you see there are only a minor fraction of other's lives.
Chances are, you are doing much better in life than you give yourselves credit
for.
Know That There Will Never Be A
Perfect Time For Anything In Life
One of the
biggest reasons why we hold off on starting something new in our personal or
professional lives is because we are scared of not being able to perform at the
level we expect ourselves to be at. Let me tell you, there will never be a
perfect time, you will always feel that you are not prepared enough, wise
enough, or focused enough to proceed with the move but guess what, no one ever
is. Do it anyway. The first script you write or the first video you edit most
likely won’t be the best work of your career.
But that shouldn’t stop you from proceeding anyways.
The best
artists weren’t always amazing and they only got better with time. I am a huge fan of YouTuber and Film Director,
Matt D'Avella and he often shares his struggles of how average he was during
the early part of his career as a freelance filmmaker. If you love to watch
videos on self-improvement, productivity, and finance, you should definitely
check out his YouTube channel.
Talk To A Friend Or A Family Member

It’s a
common fact, that talking about your problem makes you feel a lot better.
Therefore, when you do feel anxious about starting out, it is a real good idea
to talk about it with your friend or a family member or it could be anyone you
trust. See, it's not like by talking about it, you will be back to your
confident self in a second, but it’s surely a step in the right direction. Also,
it's not like that the other person will tell you stuff that you have never
heard, and you will turn into a highly motivated person within minutes. But,
the feeling of being heard is quite special, and it's not something that can be
put into words if I am being honest.
That was my
take on starting out and what you could do the handle the stress that comes
with it. In case, you did take the step and the results didn't come in your
favor, don't lose your heart and hang in there. After all, it is the
persistence shown by a regular person that eventually turns him into a winner.
